Barcelona

One of the many projects I led during my time as editor and writer at TNW, a Financial Times company, was a video partnership with the city of Barcelona. The goal was to create an interesting narrative to illustrate the incredible innovation going on in the city’s startup ecosystem. I planned the production, conducted pre-interviews and research, organized logistics, wrote the script, and hosted.

One of the videos, featured here to the right, examined how smart city technology can co-exist with historic cityscapes without compromising their beauty.

Seoul

TNW did a series of videos in partnership with the city of Seoul. As with the Barcelona project, I was tasked with creating the scripts for the series, organizing the production and logistics, conducting interviews, and hosting.

The series’ goal was to explore Seoul’s startup ecosystem. In the video featured here to the left, we illustrate the different growth stages of companies through delicious Korean cuisine and robot servers.

I’ve always had a huge interest in filmmaking and video. Back in 2013, I made the amateur short film Cold which follows Nozomi, a Japanese exchange student living in Iceland, who receives grave news from home. I directed, shot, wrote, translated, and edited the film.
