The List is a Trondheim-based magazine which covers everything that’s happening in the Trøndelag region, from art and culture to community projects and innovation. The region attracts international talent by the thousands, both through Norway’s biggest university, NTNU, and Trondheim’s rich tech community. The List was founded in 2014 to integrate this group better and help them discover the goings-on in the city.

As Editor-in-Chief, I was responsible for the production of quality content (both online and in print), developing and delivering creative partner projects, and building a community of contributing writers.

TNW, a Financial Times company, is an international tech news and entertainment website based in Amsterdam. Besides running a website that millions of readers visit each month, TNW also specializes in providing innovation programs, startup hubs, and industry-focused events — the biggest one being the TNW conference in Amsterdam which attracts 10,000+ attendees every year.

During my time at the company, I led the launch of Growth Quarters — TNW’s publication on startups and growth — and developed and oversaw the site’s contributor program. In addition to writing articles on diverse topics and performing editorial duties for the wider team, I worked on video projects, developing newsletters, moderating and hosting events, branding and short copy, project coordination, and training and managing new writers.

For almost a decade, I’ve written literary critiques on contemporary Icelandic novels for Bókmenntavefur — the Icelandic Literature Web — which is run by the Reykjavík City Library as a part of Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature.

The critiques are written in Icelandic and cover recently published novels. Instead of forcing the reviews into a simplified one-to-five star system, the aim of each criticism on the Literature Web is to provide the reader with an insightful overview of the book's central characteristics and its position within the author’s body of work, in addition to providing a fresh analysis of the novel’s style and content.

I was a part of the editorial team and one of the hosts of Víðsjá, a daily one-hour prime-time radio program on Radio One, a part of the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV.

The show is the country’s main cultural radio program and covers literature, theater, films, visual arts, academic research, and cultural events. Alongside Víðsjá, I also hosted installments of Radio One’s Book of the Week, a weekly one-hour discussion with two expert guests about a particular novel.

As an editor and host, I was responsible for creating and producing editorial material — hosting programs, researching topics, conducting interviews, audio editing, and writing articles published on RÚV’s homepage.

In addition to past jobs, I’ve served as a media judge in a recent series of startup competitions organized by Publicize and have experience as a moderator and host for various events, both online and offline.

I’ve also created stand-alone radio specials and series of segments for Iceland’s Radio One in Iceland and have appeared on international radio programs and podcasts as an expert interviewee. On top of that, I’ve done some creative writing as well as directed, written, and edited amateur short films.
